Scott Bassen is a freelance Creative Director / Art Director currently working in NYC.
Since he began freelancing in 2011, Scott has created and produced Cannes Lion winning work, acted as temporary ECD/GCD/CD and worked on numerous projects and pitches at: BBDO, BBH, DDB, Doner, FCB, Grey, Havas, Huge, JWT, Le Truc, McCann, McGarryBowen, Mother, Ogilvy, Possible, Publicis, Saatchi, TBWA\Chiat\Day, VMLY&R, Wunderman Thompson, Y&R, 360i and more.
Before freelance, he was a Creative Director at JWT NY, where he worked on Smirnoff Global, HSBC Global, and helped launch and run Microsoft Bing.
He was an Associate Creative Director at TAXI NYC, where he helped to define the new agency and build its business through key account wins, including AMP’D Mobile and Molson Canadian. 
And he was a Senior Vice President, Group Creative Director at Deutsch, NY, where he ran Snapple, Microsoft-Intel, and Cadbury-Adams, the parent company of Sour Patch Kids. The SPK campaign he co-created years ago has survived multiple agency-client relationships and is still running today. Also while at Deutsch, he was an Associate Creative Director on IKEA, creating several national campaigns, and promoting the most successful grand opening in IKEA history. 
Scott has won many advertising awards, including Addy, Andy, Cannes, Clio, Communication Arts Annual and One Show Interactive. 
He’s a native New Yorker and graduated from Syracuse University. 
When not art directing, he enjoys motorcycling, world travel and photography. 
He is also a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild and can cry on cue.​​​​​​​
